We were so excited to have the opportunity to remodel/update the master bathroom of Kelley and Patrick Grace. They wanted their master bath to reflect the sophisticated style of the rest of their home and to become something they would enjoy for years to come. Transforming the ambience from mundane to chic while maintaining the aspects of the room they liked about it was our primary goal.
Kelley liked the idea of using more bold colors and finishes than the original design, so we incorporated black features throughout in a timeless way with the frameless shower, hardware for their accessories and also painted the vanity and interior doors.
We were able to use their existing vanity without changing the functionality of the room, but added shelves and pull outs to the interior of the piece for better storage. Adding new doors to the exterior of the existing vanity further enhanced the fresh look and feel of the piece.
We used 12×24 Carrara marble tile for the floors, which seamlessly flow into the curbless hex marble shower floor. The countertops are also marble, and are sealed with a 15-year sealant, making them much less likely to stain or develop water marks.
In any remodel, if the footprint and function of your space works well for you, there are less extensive updates and modifications to existing elements like these that can save you both time and money. We feel like this project is a wonderful example of that strategy.
