Trifecta of Science, Coaching and Technology Ensure Full-Body Workout Experience
Was getting physically fit on your list of 2019 New Year’s resolutions? If so—and it doesn’t matter your current level of fitness—what if you could find a way not only to gain strength and stamina and increase your energy level, but have fun in the process?
I recently visited with Jay Bhakta, owner of Orangetheory Fitness Moore, about what makes Orangetheory Fitness unique among fitness centers and what kind of atmosphere prospective new members can look forward to.
He points first to Orangetheory’s “trifecta” of science, coaching and technology, which work together to charge up your metabolism and burn more calories.
The science: “Orangetheory is a science-based workout that uses technology to measure performance,” Jay says. Backed by decades of science, the program is based on excess post-exercise oxygen consumption; 12 minutes in the “Orange Zone” raises your heart rate and makes you burn more calories—for up to 36 hours!
The coaching: The key to Orangetheory’s success, he says, “are our highly trained and certified coaches. During the group workouts, our coaches motivate members to ‘push a little harder.’ When people work out together, they stay motivated.”
The technology: “Because of connected technology tracking which, among other things, measures heart rate,” Jay says, “our members know how hard they need to be working to get the best results.”
“Orangetheory’s program makes it really easy to push yourself to be your personal best,” Jay states. “Our members get a full-body workout experience that’s guaranteed to charge the human body and generate power. In just one hour per session, you get the most impactful, science-backed workout possible.”
OK, so all this sounds pretty incredible, but you’re worried you won’t be able to keep up.
No worries, says Jay. “Choose to walk, jog, run, bike or stride. This workout produces results based on your unique abilities. Recovering from an injury or orthopedic issue and need special guidance? Just tell your coach! We have options for every exercise. We switch up the workout every day, so not only will you continue to challenge and change your body, you’ll have more fun!”
Walk into an Orangetheory Fitness center and immediately see the difference. “Our signature orange lighting is just one of the elements that creates the energy in an Orangetheory studio,” Jay explains. “You’ll feel an adrenaline boost from the group atmosphere and motivation from your coach. Each studio is equipped with treadmills, a bike, a strider, rowers and plenty of modalities in the weight room, including suspension trainers. We also have lockers, restrooms and showers so you can freshen up post-workout.
Orangetheory Fitness Moore staff and members have fun outside the orange zone as well. “We like to say that we’re ‘A Community — Not a Competition.’ We’re not all work and no play!” Jay says. “We have events, challenges, socials and more. You’ll reach milestones and cross finish lines with cheers from your peers. You’ll thrive with a group of people with a common goal: to become better versions of ourselves. We’re in this together.”
The proof, they say, is in the pudding, so why not check them out yourself? Orangetheory offers a complimentary first workout for first-time visitors. Orangetheory Fitness is located at 825 SW 19th St. in Moore. For more information, call 703.5259. Your body will thank you.
