Grammy-winner Linda Davis will perform Sept. 21 at the Sooner Theatre. Davis is best-known for her duet with Reba McEntire, “Does He Love You,” which earned a Grammy for Best Country Vocal Collaboration.

Recently, she, her husband, Lang Scott, and daughters Hillary Scott (of Lady Antebellum) and Rylee Scott released the two-time Grammy-winning album, Hillary Scott & The Scott Family – Love Remains.

The Opry-style show will feature Lang and Rylee, along with Oklahoma’s Kellie Coffey.

Voice of the Heartland Competition Opens

Vocalists are invited to take part in a competition that doubles as a fundraiser benefiting the educational programs of the Sooner Theatre and The Studio of The Sooner Theatre.

The Voice of The Heartland is open to three age groups: 7 to 12, 13 to 17, and 18/up. The first round of the competition will be conducted through video submission; the semi-final event is set for Sept. 24 at The Sooner Theatre.

Finalists will compete in a final round on Sept. 27 at Southwind Hills Event Barn in Goldsby. JAKE-FM’s Owen Pickard will emcee both events.

Down Syndrome Association Sets Festival, 5K

The Down Syndrome Association of Central Oklahoma’s annual Festival and 5K run is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, 2 S Mickey Mantle Drive, in downtown Oklahoma City’s Bricktown Entertainment District.

Registration is $35 until Sept. 1; $40 thereafter. The race begins at 8 a.m. with an awareness walk slated for 9:30 a.m.

The free festival will feature carnival games, inflatables, face painting, exotic animals, a photo booth, a DJ dance party and more.

Proceeds from the 5K and festival, DSACO’s largest annual fundraiser, stays in Oklahoma to support the association’s many programs and resources.

Legend Senior Living Schedules Rally on the Road

Save the date for Legend Senior Living’s annual car show, Rally on the Road, slated from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15.

Food and fun is planned for the whole family, including food trucks, pop-up shops, a live DJ, a photo boot, face painting and a moon bounce. All proceeds will go to the Parkinson Foundation of Oklahoma. Donations will be accepted.

Baby Boot Camp Celebrating Anniversary

Baby Boot Camp in Norman is excited to be celebrating its eighth anniversary with a special class with giveaways and anniversary specials on Baby Boot Camp classes.
