Turn It Up at Nosh!

Nosh: A Yiddish word meaning to eat food enthusiastically. Imagine my reaction, then, when I was presented the homemade-style meals provided at Nosh restaurant in Moore.

Beginning with the Cheese Platter for Two, my date and I split the three cheeses competitively. Crisp slices of buttered bread accompanied each kind of cheese–spicy, Merlot-infused and cranberry.

To accompany my cheese platter, we were served a Spinach and Goat Cheese Salad with Blueberry Vinaigrette. Goat cheese and spinach are a well-known symbiotic combination.

As an entrée, the Pot Roast Pie was a perfect start to autumn. A home-style stew under a flakey-goodness of a presentation, I devoured every bite.

We were also presented with the Mac of the Day, which changes daily. Ours was a delectable shrimp and basil medley. A popular dish, I was told, is the Sriracha, chicken, bacon and cheddar mac ‘n’ cheese.

Imagine the most ridiculous fried meal you can think of. Now allow me to introduce King’s Frenchee, a deep-fried grilled cheese sandwich with a side of classic ketchup.

Nosh is a hidden gem for those who appreciate a good meal, a family outing or a tea party. And yes, they do host tea parties for adults and children alike! The idea is perfect for a daddy-daughter outing, as well.

The tea presentation was absolutely mind-blowing–a trip to Grandma’s house, if Grandma was an expensive, ornamental tea set collector.

Beginning as the catering company Catering Creations, Nosh was the brainchild of owner Kim Torres. They still cater, too–and this year, they are catering for the cast of the new Tim Burton movie, Starbright. This is their fourth movie, not including an ad for Kevin Durant.

Nosh even has a Take ‘N Bake menu specifically for taking home full creations.

Nosh’s interior design is very comfortable and cozy, featuring family photos, a fireplace and tea sets and trinkets galore. I would love to be a part of any 8-year-old girl’s birthday party, if it’s to be held at Nosh.
