From Corn Mazes to Zombie Apocalypse Paintball, “Farm” Has It All!
Looking for something special to do this fall with your family?
Would your children enjoy an old-fashioned corn maze or hayride? Or for the more adventurous, what about a zombie apocalypse paintball game?
Those activities, and much more, are offered this fall at the Orr Family Farm, 14400 South Western in Oklahoma City.
Countless families, groups, school children and others in the metro area have been frequenting the unique family entertainment spot since 2003, when Dr. Glenn Orr and his family opened the farm out of a desire to provide a friendly and educational environment for all ages. Last year, the farm attracted more than 76,000 people.
The Farm also has evolved into a popular venue for birthday and corporate parties and even weddings.
Its doors for the spring season open in March and concludes in late June, then opens again for its award-winning fall season mid-September through mid-November of each year.
In addition to group hayrides for adults and children, fall attractions this year include a giant corn maze for people of all ages carrying a “Peanuts: The Great Pumpkin” theme; a Pumpkin Patch (children receive one free Sugar Pie pumpkin); Cannon Blasters, devices that allow players to propel apples long distances across an open field; and a Farm Fun Yard, offering giant chess or checkers games, tricycles, bean bag and ball toss games, tetherball and cornball, and more.
For tots, the farm offers the Corn Crib–an indoor play area much like a sandbox, only it’s completely filled with corn kernels.
For those age 8 and up, check out Zombie Apocalypse paintball, a ticketed ride on war wagons equipped with paintball guns, used to take out “roaming zombies” on the Farm.
Other activities include giant jumping pillows and super slides, train rides, pedal cars, a 1974 vintage carousel, pony rides, playgrounds, a tractor tire sandbox, and mining for real gemstones in the Neal Simpson Mine.
Another popular attraction is the 425-foot-long zip line (minimum weight: 70 pounds), on which riders can reach speeds up to 25 mph!
Of course, there’s plenty of food and drink as well, including homemade kettle corn, roasted corn, lemonade and a variety of fudge flavors, as well as barbecue sandwiches, grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, turkey legs, pizza and more. Their pumpkin butter is always a hit for family gatherings.
Tickets may be purchased in advance on their website.
